STORY BEHIND SAFE HAVEN

Every day, a remarkable influx of medical professionals from around the globe makes its way to the United Kingdom—some to sit for licensure exams, others to begin their journey as healthcare expatriates. While this paints an inspiring picture, the reality on the ground is far less ideal. Upon arrival, many face the daunting challenge of securing housing due to the lack of documentation granting them the "right to rent."

For some, this obstacle is a temporary hiccup, resolved within days. For others, it becomes a prolonged struggle lasting months, leaving them stranded and frustrated. In the past, their only option was to stay in hotels, often at exorbitant rates, as visitor visas denied them rental rights. Today, however, many turn to travel and accommodation agencies that streamline their housing needs alongside their relocation arrangements.

Recognising this challenge, some agencies reached out to us, seeking a secure and dependable solution for their clients. After careful deliberation, we devised a plan to offer these professionals a safe and welcoming space, all while complying with stringent rental property legislation.

Here’s our approach: we partner with willing landlords, negotiate lease agreements, and act as the primary tenants. This allows us to provide housing to these healthcare professionals while maintaining full adherence to the terms of the lease. This solution not only bridges a critical gap but also ensures these expats feel at home as they embark on their UK journey.

WE ARE NOT SUBLETTING

The Safe Haven project is NOT subletting. Subletting is the act of an individual tenant renting out a portion or the entirety of their home to another individual, known as a sub-tenant. The sub-tenant pays rent to the tenant, who then pays rent to their landlord. On the other hand, a property management company runs the Safe Haven Project.
